Druga strona lustra (3)

There goes the whistle with its sudden scream,

And now the engine gets up steam

As the wheels turn and the axles creak

With a slow, thin, grinding shriek.

Then Bulkily

powerfully

tugging

easily

The train

starts to move,

whistling

breezily.

 

Crash! as the wagons are jerked into motion,

Then rumble slowly out of the station.

But, gathering speed, it starts to race,

And dashes ahead at a furious pace.

I znów jesteśmy po drugiej stronie lustra. Chyba enerdowska „Lokomotywa” robiła większe wrażenie…

Najpierw przypis do wpisu wczorajszego:

Tak. Poprzedni wpis to fragment „Die Lokomotive”, czyli „Lokomotywy” Tuwima w tłumaczeniu na niemiecki (a dokładniej na enerdowski). Trzeba przyznać, że brzmi dobrze, a nawet zabawnie, choć pierwsze wrażenie jest podobne do tego,jakiego doznała po drugiej stronie lustra Alicja, spoglądając pierwszy raz na poemacik „Dżabbersmok”:

Zdumiona, zastawiała się nad tym przez pewien czas […].
– Wydaje się bardzo ładne – powiedziała, gdy skończyła czytać, ale trochę trudno to zrozumieć! […] – Nasuwa to jakieś myśli… ale nie wiem dokładnie jakie! **
